KEY INFORMATION
School vision
To build a thriving international community where everyone's contribution and success is both valued and encouraged.
School aims
- To develop everyone's academic, social, sporting and cultural potential.
- To provide equal opportunities for all.
- To help everyone develop the skills and knowledge necessary to be a good citizen of the twenty first century.
- To create an environment that focuses on individual needs and which encourages the development of life-long learning.
- To promote awareness of different races and cultures and to provide equal opportunities for all.
We will work to realise these aims by:
- providing access to a broad, balanced curriculum;
- helping all children to develop an enquiring mind and the ability to question and argue rationally;
- encouraging all children to strive for high standards;
- actively encouraging parents, governors and the wider community to participate in the learning process.

We want the school logo to be based on a design by one of our enrolled pupils.
Site
To be confirmed.
Age of pupils
In its first year the school will cater for children born between 1998 and 2003. In the second year of operation we plan to expand and accept children born between 1998 and 2006. The school will continue to expand each subsequent year and will eventually have pupils aged 2 to 18.
Class size
The maximum class size will be 20 pupils.
Language policy
In order to facilitate language learning, different subjects will be taught in different languages. As the school will be international, the core language will be English and this will be used to teach numeracy, literacy, science and technology, and humanities. Languages will be taught by native speakers. Wherever possible, physical education, drama, music, dance and art will be taught in Catalan or Castellano.
Special Educational Needs (SEN)
We recognise that a percentage of children within the school may have special educational needs at some stage in their school career. We will consider children to have a special educational need if they:
- have a greater difficulty in learning than the majority of children in their age group;
- have a disability which hinders or prevents them from making use of educational facilities;
- display behaviour and/or emotional difficulties.
SEN Aims
- that all children in the school are accepted, valued and encouraged equally;
- that all children receive a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum which is matched to their abilities and encourages them to reach their full potential.
SEN Objectives
- to identify difficulties at the earliest opportunity, using the school's screening processes;
- to provide individual education programmes for children who require learning support;
- to consult parents, the child and outside agencies as appropriate to provide relevant support for each child.
What can I do to help my child?
Parents frequently ask how they can help their child and we will be very anxious to encourage parents to take an active interest in their child's progress.
The following are some of the ways in which you will be able to support your child:
- praise your child's achievements;
- reaffirm the school's expectations;
- support activities given for the children to complete at home by ensuring a quiet working atmosphere;
- talk to your child and take an interest in the topics being studied;
- make regular visits to the Public Library;
- regularly remind your child of the points listed in the 'Home School Agreement'.
Extra curricular activities
It is vital for children to be able to participate in extra-curricular activities. We consider art, sport, music, dance, drama, and community service to be all extremely important. Links will be established with local teachers and community groups (e.g. charities, sports clubs, drama and music groups) in order to ensure that these activities become an integral part of school life. Ski trips and activity weeks will also be part of the curriculum.
Local community links
Wherever possible, local services will be used, in order to support and invest in the local economy.
